Most of the people of the Navajo Nation have heard the gospel. Each year, literally dozens of 'revivals' take place on the Reservation, and each evangelist claims many conversions.
There are two problems with this. First, a large number of people use the revivals as their only church, and the only message they hear is the salvation message.
The second issue is the fact that for many of them, each time they attend a revival, they 'get saved', somehow believing that that is what the 'white man's religion' is all about. We have personally met people who get saved at every revival.
Another problem with the whole 'revival' thing is that many of the evangelists who come to the reservation, and many of the Navajo Evangelists, have one purpose in mind, and that is taking as much money as possible from the people.
But many of the Navajo who have truly given their lives to Christ know that there is much more that they need to learn and know about their Christian walk than just the salvation message. These people have a great hunger to know and understand the Word of God, and what His expectations of them are.
But, especially with those who do not speak English, it is very difficult to get teaching that they can understand. They cannot read English, and the ones who do have a difficult time putting the Word into a Navajo perspective that they can grasp. And few are able to read Navajo.
To add to the problem, there are few who are willing to commit to bringing good teaching to the reservation.
And then, as if that wasn't enough, there is the whole issue of denominational differences and cults adding their influences, making the whole thing quite confusing to them. Since few are able to read and understand the Word, they have no foundation, nothing to which they can compare a particular teaching. They cannot do the 'Berean' thing and check and see if what is being taught is true.
CPRMinistries desires to change that. It is our desire, and our goal, to encourage and bring others to the reservation to provide good, solid Bible teaching.

If you sense the Lord nudging you to get involved in this pursuit, there are a number of ways you can direct your involvement.
1] Come and visit the reservation, meet the people, and see for yourself the great need here.
2] Become a teacher at one or more churches on the reservation
3] Become an intercessory prayer partner
4] Provide televisions and DVD players for one or more churches
5] Provide financial support for this ministry to help further these goals
6] Provide food, clothing, teaching materials
7] Develope or become a part of a ministry team to visit and share the love of the Kingdom of God, through VBS, skits, dramas, testimonies (the list is endless)
